New Salem is fresh off ND Country Fest, and now the city will be home to another big event, "The Cow Town Hoe Down" this weekend.

It's game on with a full list of activities for the entire family to enjoy in New Salem, North Dakota.

Friday, July 18th, 2025 activities:

3 pm - The Tractor Trek kicks off the festivities.

6 pm to 9 pm - The Car, Motorcycle, and Tractor show in front of the New Salem Auditorium.

8 pm to 12 pm - Trip Wire will be performing on the Main Stage on Main Street.

Saturday, July 19th, 2025 activities:

8 am to 10 am - Breakfast "udder" The Tent.

9 am to 4 pm - Arts & Craft Fair at the City Auditorium.

9 am to 5 pm - Hoe Down Rib Competition for cash prizes.

10:30 am - Parade followed by Soap Box Derby.

Noon - Cornhole Tournament registration at the lot next to the Field Bar.

1 pm - Cornhole Tournament.

Noon to 4 pm - Inflatable waterslide, Jumper, and Obstacle Course at the east side of the Auditorium.

12:30 pm - Cowbingo

1:30 pm - Calf Bottle Relay and Cow Chip Throwing Contest.

1 pm - 6 pm -Free swimming at the New Salem pool.

2:30 - Lawn Tractor Pull at the east end of Main Street.

3:00 pm - Scavenger Hunt at the New Salem Auditorium.

3:00 pm - Duck race.

4 pm - 7 pm Chicken supper with the New Salem Fire Department.

7 pm - 8 pm - Music by Aleix Bachler.

8 pm - 12 mid - 8th Hour in concert on Main Street.

Sunday, July 20th, 2025 activities:

1 pm - The Demolition Derby at the Morton County Fairgrounds. Gates open at 10 am.

People come from all over the state to compete for the grand prize.  The fun starts at 1 pm.  Concessions will be served from 11 am to 4 pm.  It should be another big weekend in New Salem, North Dakota.
