Forbes magazine recently released its 2017 list of the top-earning celebrities of the last 12 months, and country music fans will recognize a few of the list's names. Leading the chart are hip-hop mogul Diddy, with his $130 million year, Beyonce ($105 million) and Harry Potter creator JK Rowling ($95 million in earnings), but nestled in among pop artists, actors and professional athletes are seven country artists.

The first big country name on the list, at No. 26, is none other than Garth Brooks. The country icon brought in a whopping $60 million in the last year, part of which he owes to the contributions of his tourmate and wife Trisha Yearwood. Brooks shares his spot on Forbes' highest-paid celebrities of 2017 list with Sir Elton John and Gordon Ramsey -- some friends in not-so-low places.

At No. 53 on Forbes' Highest-Paid Celebrities 2017 list sits Kenny Chesney, who raked in $42.5 million from his tours, brand endorsements with both Corona and Apple and his own line of rum throughout the past 12 months. Two steps behind Chesney is Luke Bryan, at No. 55; the singer cleared a cool $42 million. At No. 71 is Dolly Parton, who had a $37 million year.

Toby Keith and Florida Georgia Line are tied for position No. 83 on Forbes' 2017 list of the world's highest-paid celebrities, each with an annual earning of $34.5 million. Jason Aldean sits at No. 98 with the $32.5 million he earned over the last year.

Forbes' list of 2017's highest-paid celebrities, according to the magazine, ranks the "top-earning front-of-camera entertainers on the planet by pretax income from June 1, 2016, through June 1, 2017." Agent, manager and lawyer fees are not deducted from the totals, which are based on figures from Nielsen, NPD Bookscan, Pollstar, Box Office Mojo, Songkick, D'Marie and IMDB, along with interviews with industry insiders and, occasionally, the celebrities in question.
