This past weekend I was with family and we took a trip to a Costco store on the West Coast.  While those of us in the Bismarck/Mandan area may hear about shortages due to the Coronavirus (Covid19), I actually saw first hand what all of the hype is about.  Several big box stores and chain stores are limiting how much toilet paper, hand sanitizer and canned goods can be purchased because of the coronavirus. Most stores are limiting toilet paper purchases to four packs.

At the Costco we visited, people were emptying pallets of toilet paper just as fast as they were wheeled out.

Amazon.com has pulled 530,000 products from its website because of coronavirus price gougers. They are cracking down on third-party sellers, who are trying to take advantage of the outbreak.  Some reports have told of people selling toilet paper for as much as $2,000 per package and hand sanitizer for $200 a bottle.
