A Bold Prediction For Bismarck’s Carson Wentz Today
Carson Wentz will start today's match-up against the Cincinnati Bengals for the Minnesota Vikings.
This seems so highly improbable, considering the former Bismarck Century High School and North Dakota State University standout didn't have an NFL team for all of training camp. Many thought he was done, yet here he is again.
Carson Wentz will also set an NFL record today when he takes his first snap.
He will be the first quarterback to start an NFL game with 6 straight different teams in 6 years—another improbable stat.
Wentz will see action for the Vikings today because of a high ankle sprain that 2nd year QB JJ McCarthy suffered in week 2 against the Atlanta Falcons. You have to wonder how bad McCarthy's ankle really is, considering he finished the game. Even former Vikings running back Robert Smith said in an interview that sometimes injuries are embellished to make a change.
Carson Wentz, a North Dakota guy and much like many of us, grew up cheering for the Minnesota Vikings.
Will this propel Wentz to new heights against the Bengals today? Time will tell, but as a Vikings fan myself, I sure hope we see the Carson Wentz version from his MVP-like year in Philadelphia, or even like his time with the Colts.
A BOLD prediction for Carson Wentz today:
If he plays well today and can stay healthy over the next few weeks, he will REMAIN the starting quarterback for the Minnesota Vikings for the rest of the year. Why do I say this or make this prediction? Because the inexperienced McCarthy just doesn't pass the "eye test" at this point. He looks overwhelmed and isn't ready for the big stage yet. I'm not saying McCarthy doesn't have a future as a starting NFL QB, but it isn't right now, and the Vikings are built to win NOW.
Again, this is all based on Carson Wentz playing well and staying healthy. It's his job to lose now. SKOL!
