Pests in nature come in all shapes and sizes.. But one jumping bug isn't chasing after dogs or cats... When one hears the word "Flea" on anything... it's kind of like talking "Ticks"... You Start To Itch!

The Black Flea Beetle isn't actually a Flea, per se... Thank goodness!

This little JUMPING, acrobatic, fastest multiplier that feels like comes in herds as they are a reckoning for MASS DESTRUCTION...

Aka for the scientific folk the Phyllotreta cruciferae Goeze.

Turns out The Crucifer Flea Beetle is the most serious insect pests of canola!

Turns out the Crucifer flea beetle is the dominant flea beetle pest of canola. Adult flea beetles emerge in the spring and feed on the cotyledons and true leaves. When they emerge in large numbers, they can devastate a seedling canola field quickly; therefore, timely monitoring and management of this pest is important.

Control costs for flea beetles exceed $300 million annually in North America, according to NDSU.

We learned the hard way, these pests attack broccoli too...

AND they don't stop until total destruction has occurred!!

Feast or Famine as it seems like in farming to gardening...

Heck, don't get us started about ranching too...

Regardless, this story ends and another lesson was learned.

Never count your eggs before they hatch...
