There has been some talk about a non-stop flight from Bismarck to Nashville, Tennessee now for a while now.

I reported this about a year ago after a conversation with the Assistant Airport Director for Bismarck, Matt Remynse. I decided to check back in with Matt to see if there has been any progress in this potentially exciting new flight on Allegiant Airlines. Especially, with all the big country music fans we have in this city.

Allegiant Airlines already offers non-stop flights to Nashville from one North Dakota city, and that would be Fargo's Hector Airport.

Unfortunately, there appears to be no new progress in a Bismarck to Nashville non-stop flight.

Matt Remynse told me there continue to be ongoing talks between the airport and Allegiant Air and a potential new flight out of Bismarck to Nashville. Our airport continues to provide the data, and Allegiant continues to analyze that data. There's still hope that this direct flight will happen eventually. Fingers crossed.

I got to experience Nashville for the first time in my life this past summer when we took my son and his girlfriend to CMA Fest. We fell in love with Nashville immediately. So much to do and see.

Get ready for the return for an Allegiant Air direct flight from Bismarck to Orlando/Sanford starting February 14th, and this will run through April 4th with two flights a week.

What about issues with TSA and Air Traffic Controllers with the Government shutdown?

If you watch the nightly national news, you would swear it's nothing but chaos in the skies with airplanes about to fall out of the sky, with government employees working for free.

Bismarck's Assistant Airport Director Matt Remynse told me that this is not the case with our airport, as they have ample staff and no issues with TSA or air traffic controllers.
