What comes to your mind when you think of a family-friendly restaurant?

I can't help but think of the Country Kitchen, which used to dot the landscapes all across the Midwest. We had one in my hometown of Grand Forks growing up, and it was a very popular place to hit after church on a Sunday. It was also a very popular breakfast stop for its customers. In fact, I believe you could order breakfast all day long.

I remember winning a 10-speed bicycle in a coloring contest at Country Kitchen when I was probably 7 or 8 years old. 5 finalists were chosen for a "color off" at the restaurant, and I was the only boy against 4 girls. When the dust of the crayons settled, guess who took that bad boy home? ME! It's tough to have peaked in grade school.

I know Bismarck also had a Country Kitchen back in the day. We used to have breakfast there before hunting trips.

Our friends at Love Food recently published an article that caught my eye.

The Best Independent Family-Friendly Restaurant in each state.

The spot chosen for North Dakota is a popular downtown spot that I have a feeling you have heard of or more than likely tried before.

It's a popular pizza place in the Capital City. They are also known for their coffee.

Fireflour Pizzeria & Coffee Bar in Bismarck is one of the 50 BEST Family-Friendly restaurants in North Dakota.

Again, this is according to an article on Love Food, and it goes on to say that Fireflour is known for its wood-fired pizza that even the pickiest of eaters are sure to love. Plenty of delicious toppings to choose from, and did I mention ice cream? There's beer and wine for the big kids, too.

Fireflour is located at 111 North 5th Street in Bismarck.
