It's officially official: Fans of the Pistol Annies are good and ready for new music from the trio—composed of Miranda Lambert, Angaleena Presley and Ashley Monroe—by about, oh, yesterday at this point. Lambert has been teasing the group's third release for some time, and on Tuesday (July 17) whetted fans' appetites even further with an Instagram photo that declared they were "sangin' some songs."

A hashtag accompanying the post reading #staytuned added to the excitement, but it's anyone's guess really when the Annies will have their new material ready to share. Lambert revealed in 2017 that the Annies are reuniting and currently working on a new project, saying fans could expect an album in 2018.

However, she later revealed in an early 2018 interview that while the trio is working on new music, a project isn't close to completion.

"Everybody is kind of in different directions, which is why the Annies always takes a while," she says. "We're very much in the spirit of the Annies right now."

It seems that a project is slowly coming along, as the trio got together in May of 2018 for a poolside writing session.

In the meantime, Lambert is on the road with Little Big Town on the co-headlining Bandwagon Tour through August.
