10 Things About North Dakota Just Begging To Be Roasted

Most people across America tend to turn up their nose when it comes to anything about North Dakota.

We seldom make National news, and when we do, it's usually not something flattering. I often catch myself laughing at ABC World News Tonight with David Muir. They will be doing a story on the frigid cold screaming across the country.

"Chicago is bracing for temperatures in the single digits, the eastern seaboard will see pounding winds", and meanwhile, nothing is mentioned of what we are going through in North Dakota.

Usually twice as bad as anything else going on around the country. We are pretty much the red-headed stepchild of the nation. An after-thought at best. Even after our wildfires this past fall that took the lives of two individuals, nothing on World News Tonight.

Do I sound bitter? Maybe a little. Then again, I'm also glad we don't have droves of people in our state, and I guess the less press, the better.

One thing that is great about North Dakotans is that we are not afraid of laughing at ourselves.

We all know we talk a little funny. More funny than most (a line from the movie Fargo). We have distinct opinions and values that often differ from much of the rest of the country. We still put our families first, and we're never afraid of hard work.

I came across a video recently of one of my favorite comedians, Nikki Glaser, of her best celebrity roasts. She's awesome, by the way. I'm so mad that I missed her last year at 4 Bears Casino.

This got me thinking about if I were to roast the state I love, North Dakota, what would I say. After collaborating with some of my other lifelong native North Dakotans, here's what we came up with.
