The city of Bismarck just put itself in the record book for daily snowfall.

Not a record you want to break.  Especially in October.  8.5 inches of snow fell in the city of Bismarck smashing the old record of 3.0 inches for the date of October 26th.

That total no doubt would've been much higher total except it took a while for the warm ground to allow snow to accumulate.

Now, the question on everyone's mind is the snow here to stay in Bismarck Mandan?

Looking at the long-range forecast from Accuweather, the snow isn't going anywhere in the next couple of weeks.

However, in exactly two weeks, starting on November 11th, we have a lot of 40-plus-degree temperatures coming our way for the rest of the month.  So, I have to believe, barring any more big snow events, we should melt these 8 inches of snow at some point.  We could even have a brown Thanksgiving.
